Sony Ericsson larger than Motorola Q3: takes third place

Wow. Sony Ericsson sold 25.7 million devices Q3, Motorola sold 25.4 million. LG sold 23 million.

That would make Sony Ericsson number three after Samsung and Nokia. A goal I know they have been trying to reach for a long time. Congratulations!

300 out of 4000 iPhone apps location aware

Some interesting stats from Shyhook Wireless over at O’Reillys:

According to Skyhook Wireless over 300 iPhone apps are location-aware as of October 3rd. According to Mobclix there are over 4,000 apps in circulation. If these numbers are correct this puts the location-aware percentage at under 10% — far, far less than I would have suspected based on my own experience.
